Stark recorder to issue veteran ID cards at fair

CANTON Stark County Recorder Rick Campbell will issue U.S. Veteran Document Identification cards to U.S. military veterans during the Stark County Fair.

Campbell and a representative from the Stark County Veterans Service Commission will be under the fair grandstands, and discuss county, state and federal benefits with veterans who have questions. Hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.Aug. 27 through 30, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.Sept. 1 and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sept. 2.If a veteran would like to receive a card, they need to bring a copy of their DD214, and present two forms of identification from among the following: a valid driver's license, certified birth certificate, Social Security card, a valid U.S. passport, a valid conceal and carry permit, or an identification card from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. One of the forms of identification must be a photo ID. The cost of the document identification card is $1.For more details, call the Stark County Recorder's office at 330-451-7443.
